It’s an exciting time ahead for all of us at Bonfire - Arkheron is getting ready to move into our next phase of development, Closed Beta. As we prep to make the shift, we wanted to knock out a few frequently asked questions around what’s next for the game!

First off - what is Arkheron? 

Seems like you're new here, welcome! Arkheron is an in development PVP game, where teams of three gather items and work to make powerful combinations of abilities. 

• In our main game mode, Ascension, 15 teams enter a match and compete to ascend a mysterious tower and be the last team standing. 

• You can also play our arena mode, Spires, and compete in a best 2 out of 3 deathmatch against one other team. 

How can I play Arkheron? 

We’re getting ready to kick off our Closed Beta, the next major phase of testing for Arkheron. Sign up here if you’re interested, and we’ll email you when we kick things off! If you already have access to the game or have previously signed up for Closed Beta on steam, you’re all set.

When will Closed Beta Start? 

We don't have an exact date for you just yet, but we’re planning to kick things off in the next couple of months. Sign up for the Closed Beta to be the first to know!

How long will Closed Beta Last?

We’re expecting Closed Beta to run for a few weeks! Our current plan is to leave Spires, our Arena mode, up 24/7 during Closed Beta, and have specific testing windows per region for our main mode, Ascension.

Which regions will Arkheron support at Closed Beta?

Arkheron will be available globally, but all regions may not be turned on at the same time. Sign up through FirstLook and we’ll email you when it’s your time to play!

What platforms will be available during Closed Beta?

We’re planning to expand to consoles during Closed Beta (console players, please feel free to sign up!), but testing will start on PC only. At launch, expect Arkheron to be available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. 

Will Arkheron be free to play?

We aren’t quite ready to share the details of our plan but we can confirm that we won’t be free to play. Stay tuned for more details during Closed Beta.

Can I play before Closed Beta? 👀

We have a small group of incredibly helpful testers who play Arkheron weekly, helping us learn and providing feedback as we quickly iterate on builds. Queue times are very limited, with Spires queues open in Europe, North America, and Asia on Thursday & Friday nights. Custom games are open to these testers 24/7. 

Fair warning - playing during this period of development means opting in to bumps in the road and bugs along the way as we work towards polish for Closed Beta. Join our discord if you’re interested in being an early tester - access info & instructions can be found there!    

How often should I expect Arkheron to update during pre-Beta testing?

This is changing! In our most recent phase of active development, we relied on small, fast-turnaround patches to iterate quickly. As we get ready to kick off Closed Beta, we’re transitioning to a monthly cadence to ensure better game stability and performance. Smaller, critical bug fixes will still be deployed outside of this schedule on an as needed basis.
